desklamp fails to substitute for a floodlight and a gel. |

and the ladies do look lovely. Not that the show goes off without
a hitch, but perseverance and that certain dreadful tenacity sees them
through. |

do emerge. Some are silly, but others, like this scene between Don
Carlo and Queen Elizabeth is nothing short of operatic. |
