“Dear Travis,
It is always good to be able to write a congratulatory letter to a person
who has done a fine piece of work -- but it is doubly good when the person's
quality of work is in a field where it is bound to be reflected in the
minds and hearts and actions of perhaps millions of people every day.
Best regards,”

Travis' final Grade Point Average was 3.94, dragged down by the “B” in
directing!
Travis explains, “The professor said my work merited an “A,” but he only gave “A's” to Drama majors. Realizing he had ruined a 4.0 average, he offered to change the grade, but I let it stand. I wasn't a Drama major and I had just learned that my GI Bill was expiring! (I hadn't known there was time limit on it!) A degree was now out of the question, so I concentrated on getting the most I could out of my remaining two quarters, and then went back to haunting libraries and bookstores.” |
